Jekyll & Hyde Shiraz Viognier

Hugh Hamilton Wines Jekyll & Hyde Shiraz Viognier is sourced from the Church, Cellar and Gateway Vineyards in McLaren Vale. Typically around 5% of the blend is Viognier.

Shiraz and Viognier fruit is picked on the same day and blended at crushing. They are co-fermented, helping to stabilize the colour molecules from the Shiraz and produce a darker coloured wine – even though Viognier is a white variety.

After a short period of post-ferment maceration, the wine is transferred to French and American oak barrels for 18 months of maturation.

Deep dark ruby, Hugh Hamilton Wines Jekyll & Hyde Shiraz Viognier is full bodied with punchy fruit flavours, velvety tannins and a light tap of oak. Cellaring potential is six years.
